I've been wanting to gather the best of my resources into a 'What?', 'How?', 'Why?' themed booklet for my KS4 students for so long and I have finally produced the perfect resources and found time to gather them into one huge toolkit. I have edited some to fit the booklet design and included an intro and some review pages before and after for a fully self-regulated experience.

The Secondary English Toolkit: a Student's Guide to Mastering Secondary English. STUDENTS! This booklet is designed to help you take your thinking one step further, moving from what you notice, to how the writer creates meaning, to why those choices matter. Use the contents to find the skill you need, practise it, and build your Secondary English toolkit one step at a time.

This booklet is carefully designed to help you master the key skills needed to analyse texts successfully in Secondary English, using three simple but powerful questions: ‘WHAT?’, ‘HOW?’ and ‘WHY?’

Each skill is supported by a HUGE range of resources, strategies, examples and activities designed to help you build your understanding, practise your skills and become increasingly independent in your thinking and analysis.

The skills covered are mostly applicable to studying GCSE Literature and the reading sections of GCSE Language in Secondary English.

The booklet contains 21 resources from across my website and some exclusive ones too.
