About Me

Hello! I'm Rosie, a teacher of Secondary English and I can honestly say that I LOVE my job. I got my QTS and PGCE in 2017 and I have dabbled in TLRs including 'Developing Evidence Informed Teaching' and 'Research Lead'. I completed my NPQ in Leading Teacher Development in 2022 and I have been an AQA Exam Marker for Language Paper 2 for four years (currently having a hiatus!). But quite honestly, I am no longer ambitious to climb the ladder, I am settled being the best classroom teacher that I can be.

My route into teaching was a little different, having a degree in Journalism BA Hons and falling straight into a career in the online and marketing world from 2012-2016, I found a passion for creativity, communication and engaging audiences through digital content. Working in a fast-paced environment helped me build strong skills in organisation, problem-solving, and presenting information in ways that were both accessible and impactful - and it has helped me massively when it comes to engaging students in the classroom!

I like to think that I share my Secondary English teacher resources with no ego, simply passion and innovation. I make resources that I cannot find online and that I have noticed is needed within my own classroom. 

The biggest compliment of all, since starting Secondary English, is when teachers tell me they have found their spark again. Knowing that my resources, ideas, and strategies that I share have helped reignite their enthusiasm for teaching is soooo rewarding and in a profession where teachers are dropping like flies because the system is SO broken, if I can make planning easier, inspire a fresh approach, or remind teachers why they fell in love with the profession in the first place, then mission accomplished.
