SALT: So what? Linking AO1 to AO3.

SALT: So what? Linking AO1 to AO3.

Contains 3 sheets: 1 x model worked example using Shakespeare's Macbeth and 2 x blank templates.

Linking the writer’s choice to the real world shows that you understand the writer’s message and its relevance, not just the technique (AO2). Being able to use ‘SALT’ can remind you to show off your AO1 skills (ideas and arguments) and AO3 (context) together. GCSE students should link the writer’s choices to the real world because it shows they understand why the text matters beyond the page. It moves their answer from basic analysis (“what the writer does”) to evaluation (“what it means and why it’s important”).
